What is the concept behind the Annual Scientific Award “Science 2026”?

“Science 2026” is an annual scientific award established to honor the most active and distinguished professionals engaged in scientific research and development.

To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, the award operates on the principle of self-nomination. Anyone may nominate themselves free of charge and gain the opportunity to win in one or several categories. In addition, there are formal awards that may be granted solely on the basis of meeting specific eligibility criteria.

What Is Required to Participate in the Categories?

To participate in the Annual Scientific Award “Science 2026”, you need to submit a single application, which is then reviewed by the Expert Committee.

At the first stage, the committee evaluates all submissions and assigns each application to one or several relevant categories.

At the second stage, the winners are determined in accordance with the rules outlined in the official regulations of each category. Since each category is evaluated independently, applicants have the opportunity to win in multiple categories.

What Are the Timeframes for Application Review and Award Distribution?

For awards based on formal eligibility criteria (non-competitive awards), applications are reviewed within one month from the date of submission.

For competitive awards, the selection of winners is carried out in accordance with the rules and procedures specified in the official regulations of each category.

What Is the Difference Between a Category Winner and a Laureate?

Let us take as an example a category whose regulations specify that it includes 100 main awards and 250 laureate distinctions.

A category winner is a participant who achieves one of the top results and receives the main award — a desk trophy (prize). These are the individuals ranked from 1st to 100th place within the category.

Laureates are participants ranked from 101st to 350th place. They are honored with a secondary award — a wooden plaque recognizing their achievement.

Participants are individuals who do not fall within the winner or laureate rankings. They may receive a participant certificate or a letter of recognition as confirmation of their involvement in the award program.

Does the “Science 2026” Award Offer Free Participation?

Yes. Anyone may nominate themselves in any category completely free of charge.
In the event of winning or being included in the list of laureates, a symbolic organizational fee will be required to cover production and administrative costs associated with the preparation of awards.

At the payment stage, you may choose to decline further participation, meaning that submitting an application does not create any financial or contractual obligations on your part.

Is There a Limit to the Number of Categories One Participant May Apply For?

There are no restrictions on the number of categories a participant may apply for.
When completing the application form, participants may indicate the categories in which they wish to take part. However, the final decision regarding category assignment will be made by the Expert Committee, based on the information provided in the submitted application.
